The application period for the VSFS 2011-2012 eInternship program has closed. Below is a list of the eIntern positions that will be filled by September 2012. These summaries contain language, regional knowledge, and other requirements for each position. Each tag corresponds to a unique letter/number combination for each project. Projects were available to work with US diplomatic posts overseas and State Department domestic offices (noted by tag beginning with “DC”). New projects will be posted in spring 2012 for the 2012-2013 eInternship cycle.

The applicant must be computer literate. He/she must have Internet/Email access and must be able to navigate Farsi-based websites, blogs, online journals, etc. He/she must be fluent in Microsoft Office Suite.

Reading fluency in Farsi is required.

Graduate-level is strongly preferred, but undergraduate with significant experience will also be considered.

DC23 State Department Domestic Office Office of the Haiti Special Coordinator Help the Haiti Special Coordinator's Public Affairs team jump into the 21st century by defining, monitoring, analyzing, and engaging Haitians and Haitian-Americans via social media sites, blogs, websites, and news feeds to determine public opinions on US earthquake reconstruction assistance projects as well as overall opinions on the political, economic and social situation of Haiti. Haitian Creole Advanced Previous knowledge or study of Haiti, Haitian Creole and French would be very helpful in this project.

Intermediate or advanced spoken, written and reading skills in Haitian Creole are vital. French will also be helpful, but Creole is more important.
