Diuretics for the Treatment of Hypertension
 This slide talk is the fifth in a series of 9 new slide talks on the clinical pharmacology of antihypertensive drugs. It reviews the various types of diuretics used to treat hypertension as frontline or combination therapy, their specific sites and mechanisms of action, and their antihypertensive effects among different patient populations. Also discussed is the extent to which diuretics precipitate or fail to prevent the development of diabetes and the increased cardiovascular risk associated with it.
