    •  We are excited to read the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) will increase Engineering (as well as Science, Technology and Math) course options this school year. Kudos to DoDEA! President Barack Obama's "Educate to Innovate" campaign for excellence in STEM Education aims to teach U.S. students to think critically in STEM subjects so they move to the head of the pack and are no longer outperformed by students from other nations.

You can go into the curriculum and click on the standard for certain subjects to find out the standards by grade. The PDF for Math has the actual individual standard per grade. Informative so you can see what they should be covering.

  21. OKINAWA / TYPHOON BOLAVEN: Please take this storm seriously—it is large and extremely powerful. At this time, DoDEA schools on Okinawa are still scheduled to open on time Monday morning but officials will continue to monitor the situation and let everyone know as early as possible if that status changes. Your best source of information remains the Kadena Air Base Facebook page and AFN Okinawa. Stay safe everyone!
  22. Now that the summer break has come to an end, DoDEA reminds drivers to watch for school-aged children walking to and from school. Children often forget to watch for you.

Our communities have well established rules for speed and other traffic violations in the area of elementary, middle and high schools. It is critical that we all do our part to ensure the safety and welfare for the children returning to school.

Please help us by following the rules which vary from state to state and country to country and by obeying directions from law enforcement officers and crossing guards. Please help us make this a safe school-year for our children.
  23. If you go to our webpage www.dodea.edu, you’ll notice some changes today. Last night, we began a test run of our HQ and area web pages on our Web Content Management System (WCMS).

The WCMS will help us present a more professional, cohesive...
, and consistent representation of every level of the DoDEA school system. This initial test/launch will not include districts and schools. If successful, we’ll roll out districts and schools as the designs and content are completed. This will take about 2-years to complete.

We welcome your comments. If you have difficulty finding a favorite page that you had bookmarked or frequently visit, try our search feature.
