Webinar on Reducing Recidivism and Promoting Behavioral Health

Join this free webinar, A New Collaborative Framework for Reducing Recidivism and Promoting Behavioral Health, hBehavioral_frameworkosted by the Council of State Governments (CSG).    This webinar will focus on the new report “Adults with Behavioral Health Needs under Correctional Supervision: A Shared Framework for Reducing Recidivism and Promoting Recovery”, released today (September 27, 2012).  From CSG, “This report provides a practical framework to assist corrections, mental health, and substance abuse policymakers and professionals to work collaboratively at the systems level to prioritize scarce treatment and supervision resources for the large number of adults with mental health and substance use disorders who cycle through the criminal justice system.”

Panelists:

Fred Osher, M.D., oversees the health components of the CSG Justice Center's initiatives.

David D’Amora, oversees the National Initiatives division of the CSG Justice Center.

Ruby Qazilbash is the Associate Deputy Director for Justice Systems Policy at the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA).

Anita Pollard, CDR USPHS, is Corrections Health Manager at the National Institute of Corrections (NIC).

Larke Huang, Ph.D. is a Senior Advisor in the Office of Policy Planning and Innovation and the Director of the Office of Behavioral Health Equity for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
