Berlin, April, 1987: Soviet guards pose for a photo as they prepare to end their tour of duty at Spandau Prison. For the past 21 years, the prison's sole occupant was loopy Hitler henchman Rudolf Hess; the task of guarding him was rotated among troops from the U.S., France, England and the Soviet Union on a monthly basis. After Hess' death later in 1987, the facility was torn down.
