Moral Leadership and Development

Anytime--During this e-course, participants will explore forms of moral and authentic leadership, discover how authentic and moral leaders are high-impact leaders, practice behaviors that will lead to better moral decision-making outcomes, and learn how to develop followers to be moral actors.

Overview

The target audience for the Moral Leadership Development e-course spans the executive, senior level leader, and manager positional levels as outlined in the NIC Core Competency Model. It is expected that the participant will spend 1 ½ - 2 hours to complete this course. Participants will explore forms of moral and authentic leadership, discover how authentic and moral leaders are high-impact leaders, practice behaviors that will lead to better moral decision-making outcomes, and learn how to develop followers to be moral actors.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to explain:

  • What it means to be an authentic leader and a leader of character

  • How to be a leader of character when faced with moral dilemmas

  • How making moral judgments, taking moral ownership, and having courage and confidence can be developed

  • How leaders enhance followers’ motivation and ability to sustain their own moral decision-making and behaviors without strict organizational controls

  • How leaders can establish and sustain a moral culture in their organization
