Overview

Teamwork is a survival skill- in and out of the workplace. Whether it be rafting, playing a team sport, or working on a project, collaboration with others is necessary to get the job done. In this course you will learn about the importance of collaborations in corrections. Collaborating with others can greatly enhance the services we provide and help to reduce recidivism. Particularly in these turbulent times, collaboration may ensure the survival of programs, services, and even agencies.

Objectives

In this course you will:

  • Explore the concept of collaboration as a survival tool as well as an essential component of evidence-based principles in implementing systemic change.

  • Define the elements of successful collaboration. Identifying and engaging stakeholders in the collaborative process.
  • Learn about strategies and tactics that have been used in successful collaborations.
  • Create an action plan for your collaborative work.
