The 2007 ACS data release includes several changes to the 2006 ACS data products. In addition, one data product, formerly known as the “multiyear profiles”, is being re-introduced under the new name “comparison profiles” after being suspended for two years.
First Release of 2005-2007 ACS 3-Year Estimates
Products are now available for areas with a population of 20,000 or greater. The data products for the 2005-2007 ACS 3-Year Estimates are the same data products available for the 2007 ACS 1-Year Estimates with the exception of Ranking Tables and Comparison Profiles. Ranking Tables and Comparison Profiles are only available for ACS 1-Year Estimates.
Selected Population Profiles by Country and Region of Birth
Selected Population Profiles are now available for approximately 100 countries and region of birth groups, in addition to the race, ancestry, and ethnic groups that were released in previous years.
Comparison Profiles
Comparison Profiles show data side-by-side from the 2006 ACS and the 2007 ACS, indicating where there is a statistically significant difference between these two sets of estimates. An * in the statistical significance column of the comparison profile indicates that the 2006 ACS estimate is significantly different (at a 90% confidence level) from the 2007 ACS estimate. A 'c' indicates the estimates for that year and the current year are both controlled; a statistical test is not appropriate. The comparison profiles are available for 1-year estimates only.
Quality Measures Detailed Tables
Quality measures accompany each ACS data release. These statistics are provided to help users get a better sense and understanding of the quality of the data. Ten new detailed tables have been created that include specific measures of survey quality. The table identifier and title for each of these tables are listed below.

B98002 | UNWEIGHTED GROUP QUARTERS POPULATION SAMPLE
B98011 | HOUSING UNIT COVERAGE RATE

Nation and state quality measures were previously published on the ACS website but are now accessible from the American FactFinder in the form of detailed tables. Users can learn more about Quality Measure tables by going to either the 2007 Accuracy of the Data document or the 2005-2007 Accuracy of the Data document. Both are located in the Documentation section of this website.
Geographical Mobility for Residence 1 Year Ago Detailed Tables
These detailed tables include estimates based on outmigration. The estimates are similar to those available for the geographic mobility tables for current residence but instead of using the current location of the respondent they use the location of the respondent one year ago. Forty-two new tables will be available this year. These new tables allows one to determine the characteristics of persons who LEFT a specified geographic area in the past year, as well as the characteristics of those who stayed in that area.
Selected Population Profiles
In the 2006 ACS, the Selected Population Profiles were only released for geographic areas with a total population of at least 1 million. This population threshold has been reduced to 500,000. This change results in the release of Selected Population Profiles for all congressional districts. As was true in the 2006 ACS, Selected Population Profiles that are based on 1-year estimates are only released for selected population groups with a minimum estimated size of 65,000. The 3-year Selected Population Profiles will support selected populations with a minimum estimated size of 20,000. Four new estimates were added to the Selected Population Profile identifying the number of races reported.
Data Profiles
In addition to the estimate and margin of error of the estimate, the data profiles now include percentages and the margins of error associated with those percentages.
Detailed Tables
Twelve Detailed Tables were removed. However, nine of the removed detailed tables (B13004A-I. Women 15-50 Years Who Had a Birth in the Past 12 Months by Marital Status – iterated by race) were replaced by B13002A-I Women 15-50 Years Who Had a Birth in the Past 12 Months by Marital Status by Age. Three tables were deleted:
Collapsed versions were added for fifty-nine detailed tables.
Subject Tables
In the 2006 ACS, Group Quarters table S2601C. Characteristics of the Group Quarters Population in the United States was only available for selected states. The 2005-2007 ACS 3-Year Estimates allow this Subject Table to be produced for all states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
Geographic Comparison Tables (GCT’s)
The only changes to this data product are for the 2005-2007 period. The American Indian Area for the 3-year table now includes the following three geographic entities
