* NOTE: In Spanish, the national origin term corresponding to the people from the United States is "estadounidense". Strictly speaking, the term "americano" refers to a person from any country of the region of the Americas. Nevertheless, the Spanish-speaking population of the United States of America uses it to refer to the people from this country. Indigenous people prefer their tribal name.
