Sections of this report include: summary; Department of Corrections’ outcome evaluation; evidence-based supervision; and what “evidence-based” means.“Our findings indicate that intensive supervision focused on surveillance achieves no reduction in recidivism; intensive supervision coupled with treatment achieves about a 10 percent reduction in recidivism; and supervision focused on the Risk Need and Responsivity approach achieves a 16 percent reduction in recidivism” (p. 1).
