Jerry D. Bowerman is the Director of the Intelligence Division of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). Mr. Bowerman directs a staff of analysts, investigators, auditors and statisticians, who are responsible for the collection, analysis and timely dissemination of intelligence to other TTB divisions in support of their regulatory and law enforcement functions. Toward these objectives, ID personnel monitor the domestic trade in alcohol and tobacco products, as well as the firearms excise tax.

Mr. Bowerman started his career with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) in 1974 as an inspector in the Louisville Field Office. After 9 years in the field, Mr. Bowerman transferred to ATF's Headquarters Office of Compliance Operations where he worked as a specialist in the Alcohol Import/Export Branch. While he was assigned to ATF Headquarters he held numerous positions, including Technical Advisor in the Firearms and Explosives Division; management examiner on the Regulatory Program, Planning, and Analysis Staff; Assistant Chief and Chief of the Product Compliance Branch; Chief of the Special Programs Branch; Chief of the Wine, Beer and Spirits Regulations Branch; Chief of the Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement Branch (ATEB); and Deputy Chief of the Firearms and Explosives Services Division.
