The Leader and Professional Development Division (LPDD) is responsible for ensuring that DoD has a comprehensive, competency-based system, and integrated leadership development programs that support the deliberate development of highly skilled civilian leaders who are well prepared to lead and excel in a joint, total force environment. 
 
LPDD, manages the following programs:
 
 

DSLDP

The Defense Senior Leader Development Program (DSLDP) is the DoD program to develop senior civilian leaders to excel in the 21st Century joint, interagency, and multi-national environment.  The program provides the means to develop a cadre of world-class senior civilian leaders with the enterprise-wide perspective and the critical skills needed to lead organizations and achieve results in the national security environment today and well into the future.

DLAMP
The Defense Leadership and Management Program (DLAMP) is a Department-wide program for growing future DoD civilian leaders through "joint" civilian training, education and development.  DLAMP serves as the framework for achieving the objective of the Commission on Roles and Missions of the Armed Forces to ensure a DoD civilian leadership community capable of leading in a "joint" environment.  It nurtures a shared understanding and sense of mission between civilian and military leaders.

ELDP
The Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP) develops civilian leaders at the mid-career level through hands-on training at military installations around the country and overseas, in support of the warfighters and Combatant Commanders.

NSPD 

Established by Executive Order 13434, the National Security Professional

Development (NSPD) is a government-wide initiative to develop a cadre of

professionals who possess a broad understanding of our Nation's national

security objectives beyond their own agency's missions and the knowledge,

skills, and experience necessary to lead and execute coordinated, effective

national security operations.
