The U.S. Department of State, in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Univision Networks, Kauffman Foundation, and m-Via will host Unleashing IdEA, a diaspora event launching Global Entrepreneurship Week, on Monday, November 14, at the IDB in Washington, D.C.
Under Secretary for Democracy and Global Affairs Maria Otero, Assistant Secretary for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs Jose Fernandez, Acting Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roberta Jacobson, and Special Representative for Global Partnerships Kris M. Balderston will deliver remarks at the event.
Unleashing IdEA will highlight diaspora and transnational entrepreneurship through a celebratory, knowledge-sharing, partnership-forming event, which will be broadcast on Univision Networks and live-streamed in English at www.livestream.com/unleashingidea and in Spanish at http://www.livestream.com/liberandoidea.
Through this event, International diaspora Engagement Alliance (IdEA) partners will highlight existing partnerships to engage and support diaspora entrepreneurs and investors.
Moving forward, IdEA will leverage these models to develop additional diaspora-centered partnerships that promote trade and investment, entrepreneurship, and innovation in countries in the region.
IdEA is an innovative partnership platform, launched by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton at the first-ever Global Diaspora Forum, to engage diaspora communities, the private sector, and public institutions in a collaborative process.
