How to Contact U.S. Senator Roland Burris (D-IL)

Friday January 16, 2009
As I've mentioned, I'm not thrilled about Roland Burris becoming our U.S. Senator.

I find Burris to be a "useful idiot" in the Blagojevich circus, to borrow AM 890 Roe Conn's term for him. I don't have high hopes for the Burris tenure.

Thankfully, though, Conn also pointed out that Burris sounds an awful lot like Winnie the Pooh.

I now can't shake that. Try it the next time you hear Burris.

I swear it sounds like he's about to break into talking about the rumbly in his tummy. That's how I intend to make it through his term.

The other good news in all of this is that it seems the rule of the law was followed, more or less, and it's now the end of this Senate appointment mess. More or less. I hope.

Road to Inauguration

This photo of Barack Obama and his younger daughter, Sasha, is a pretty good metaphor for what I hope their lives will feel like in the White House. At least for Sasha. I'm sure dad will have a tougher go of it. But, it's impossible not to wish them well as they pack up and move out of Chicago to assume the weight of the world.
