Filed Under: GISCC, Georgia GIS News The Georgia GIS Data Clearinghouse is operating with no state funding since July 1, 2009. However, both clearinghouse nodes of at Georgia Tech and UGA/ITOS continue to operate the Clearinghouse and the data repository websites including GISCC specific web pages with no funding. The committe recently conducted an on-line survey among memebrs with questions regarding continued maintenance of GISCC content, where it should be hosted, who, and how it will be updated and maintained. Both nodes have volunteered to continue maintaining them as time permits. The results were released in July 2010. The document can be accessed from this link. Last Update: August 18, 2010

Filed Under: GISCC, Georgia GIS News July 01, 2009 Due to a suspension of funding from the State, the Georgia Spatial Data Infrastructure (GaSDI) and the Georgia GIS Clearinghouse will be operating at a minimal level. The site will continue to be hosted by the Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Georgia as a courtesy, but there are no funds for site support at either school. Staff have been reassigned to other duties. We will attempt to answers questions and provide assistance during the last working day of every month and as time permits, so please be patient. It is our hope and desire that as the economy improves, funding will be returned to this statewide asset so that it can continue to serve the needs of the state.Last Update: July 7, 2009
