ARC Federal Co-Chair Earl Gohl Welcomes Administration's Multi-Agency Effort to Address Drought Conditions in Rural America
Gohl and other members of the White House Rural Council met with President Obama on August 7 to discuss efforts to assist rural areas affected by drought. The USDA has designated 56 Appalachian counties as eligible for drought assistance. Press release New "Virtual Incubation" Webinar Series to Help Community Colleges Support Small-Business Growth
The American Association of Community Colleges' (AACC) Center for Workforce and Economic Development is offering a series of webinars in August and September to help community colleges learn how they can develop "virtual incubation" services to encourage innovation and support new and existing small businesses in their communities. Obama Administration Announces $9 Million Investment in Rural Communities through Rural Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge
The 13 selected projects will promote job creation, spur innovation, and provide assistance to entrepreneurs and businesses in a wide range of industrial sectors.
