Small Business Advocate

It is the policy of the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) to apply efforts of outreach and technical assistance to identify, qualify and utilize the following types of businesses to the maximum extent possible that is consistent with the efficient performance of ORISE’s contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE):

  • Small businesses
  • HUBZone small businesses
  • Small disadvantaged businesses
  • Women-owned small businesses
  • Veteran-owned small businesses
  • Service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses
  • Historically black colleges and universities
  • Other minority educational institutions

ORISE’s Small Business Advocate also serves as a Pro-Net/CCR Dynamic Small Business Search access station site for the Small Business Administration (SBA).

Pro-Net/CCR Dynamic Small Business Search is an online service created by the SBA to champion America’s small business entrepreneurs through a procurement marketing and access network.

Mentor-Protégé Program

The Mentor-Protégé Program is designed to encourage approved mentor businesses to provide various forms of assistance to eligible protégé participants.
