Welcome
Jim Letten, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana, welcomes you to the virtual version of our office. You are looking at a new and improved version of our website, which first debuted in June 1999. In addition to improved eye appeal and navigation, the site is now fully compliant with the Rehabilitation Act.
Most important is that our website allows us to provide you, the public whom we serve, with more information about our activities than you ordinarily receive through the media. While you most likely connect us with prosecuting drug cartels and corrupt politicians, you will be surprised to learn that our office is involved in improving the quality of life in New Orleans though various programs and initiatives. You can also find out about the latest information on a variety of current issues as well as our official press statements regarding our prosecutive and litigative actions.
We invite you to stay for awhile and see for yourself how much U.S. Attorney's Office cares about the "city that care forgot."
