Air Power Day 2012

Team Osan will host the Republic of Korea Air Force Black Eagles who perform precision aerial maneuvers demostrating the capabilities of the high performance aircraft. There will also be a wide variety of Korean and American high performance aerial demonstrations, unique ground performances, military equipment static displays, a children's play area and a wide variety of food and souvenir booths.

**In the account of rain the airshow will continue. The schedule will adjust and some things may be dropped due to heavy rain,  but the show will go on. **

Hours of operations for Air Power Day
Gates open: 9 a.m.
No admittance after: 3 p.m.
Gates close: 4 p.m.

Guests arriving from the Songtan Subway Station can take a free shuttle bus that will take them to the Doolittle gate at Osan Air Base.

No privately operated vehicles will be allowed access through the Doolittle Gate. There will be no parking available.

Osan Air Base will host Air Power Day on Oct. 20 and 21. This year's Air Power Day commemorates the 62nd Anniversary of the Korean War and marks the 65th Anniversary of the 51st Fighter Wing and the Republic of Korea Armed Forces.

**In the account of rain the airshow will continue. The schedule will adjust and some things may be dropped due to heavy rain, but the show will go on.

**The use of hearing protection is highly recommended.

**LIMITED PARKING WILL BE AVAILABLE**
Plan to take public transportation.

Air Power Day visitors traveling to Osan Air Base can use the "Songtan Fire Station" address on their navigation systems in their cars. The address of the Songtan Fire Station is Kyonggi-do, Pyongtaek-si, Chungangro-5ka (Sinjang-dong 505-1) and the phone number is 031-662-2119.

At the four way intersection, (adjacent to Songtan Fire Station), turn on to K-55 toward Osan Air Base, go straight over the overpass, and cross over the railroad crossing.

No privately operated vehicles will be allowed access through the Doolittle Gate. Please park your POV at the temporary parking lot located outside Doolittle Gate and walk through the gate. Public parking is very limited. The lot fill up early.

Gates open at 9 a.m. and the airshow ends at 4 p.m. for both days.

Public entrance (pedestrians only) is through the  Doolittle Gate.

Military entrance (pedestrians only) is at the end of Jo-Rang Mal Road across from Turumi Lodge.


If the air show reaches full-capacity (to be determined) additional base access may be denied at the discretion of the installation commander until enough patrons have departed to free space for more guests.

- KOREAN CITIZENS AGE 17 AND ABOVE ARE REQUIRED TO SHOW THEIR KOREAN DRIVERS LICENSE OR THEIR KOREAN IDENTIFICATION CARD FOR ENTRY TO THE AIR SHOW.

- ALL SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN MUST CARRY STUDENT ID'S IF AVAILABLE.

- CHILDREN WITHOUT IDS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT WITH AN ID OR DRIVERS LICENSE.

- VISITORS WHO ARE NOT KOREAN CITIZENS MUST BRING THEIR PASSPORT FOR ENTRY TO THE AIR SHOW.

- CERTAIN COUNTRY RESTRICTIONS APPLY

- NO PROTESTS ALLOWED. PROTESTORS ARE ILLEGAL AND WILL BE APPREHENDED BY POLICE AND CHARGED WITH TRESSPASSING.

The following items are not allowed:
Pets
Skates/Skateboards
Bicycles
Alcohol
Weapons
Backpacks/Large Purses
Radios
Coolers (Hard or Soft)
Food
Water

All bags/items will be searched. Patrons are subject to search at any time while on the Osan Air Base installation.

Any bags, backpacks, purses or other items that are found unattended on base will be confiscated for investigation by Security Forces.

Republic of Korea Black Eagles

Black Eagles is ROKAF's only aerobatic flight team. The Black Eagles possess a sense of duty and pride for representing ROKAF. With this in mind, we aim to create the best flying performances as a service to our country and to provide joy and hope to our people.


F-16 "Fighting Falcon"
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a compact, multi-role fighter aircraft. It is highly maneuverable and has proven itself in air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attack. It provides a relatively low-cost, high-performance weapon system for the United States and allied nations.
