The Small World of Public Safety Information Sharing

Thomas O’Reilly is the former Director of the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Initiative (NSI) at DOJ and is currently the Executive Director of the Police Institute at Rutgers University.

Ron Brooks is the Director of the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center and Chairman of the Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative (Global) Criminal Intelligence Coordinating Council. 

Several weeks ago, we traveled to the Netherlands to strengthen international information sharing relationships between American law enforcement agencies and leaders at Europol. Europol is the European law enforcement agency that assists the 27 member countries of the European Union in their fight against serious international crime and terrorism.
