I am very proud of my career, of having served my country for the last 18 years. In fact, I still get chills every time I hear the national anthem.

Rebecca graduated from high school with honors, but like many young people she wasn’t sure about what she wanted to do afterward. She didn’t have a sense of direction and was faced with a common predicament, either work to put herself through school or join the military. After meeting a family friend who inspired her with his Navy stories, Rebecca enlisted.

As a Senior Deep-Sea Diver in the Navy, it is Rebecca’s duty to complete a number of highly challenging tasks. From working on a ship to salvaging wrecks from the bottom, she dives in no matter the condition.

Rebecca is currently stationed at the Naval Safety Center, where she conducts diving safety surveys on all DoD diving commands. Her job keeps her very busy and traveling a lot, but she feels extremely lucky to be in such a rewarding field.

Rebecca says the Navy has molded her into the hardworking, driven and disciplined woman she is today.
