Updated December 2011 DoDI 47.03 - Consultatoin with NHOs, signed October 25, 2011, reissues DTM 11-001 as a DoD Instruction.  It establishes policy, assigns responsibilities when proposing actions that may affect a property or place of traditional religous and cultural improtance to an NHO, and provides a framework for DoD Components to develop localized processes to facilitate consultation.

Department of Defense Native Hawaiian Cultural Communication Course, May 9-10 2012, in Hawaii at Hale'iwa, Oahu: Waimea Valley Cultural Center

Native Hawaiian specialists in history, culture, intercultural communication and consultation, and legal experts will teach this acclaimed training. This free course provides valuable information for DoD employees whose work may have an effect on Native Hawaiians and for those already working with Native Hawaiians and Native Hawaiian Organizations.

Department of Defense Native Hawaiian Cultural Communication Course - Executive Session, May 8, 2012, Hale Koa Hotel, Honolulu

A free half-day Executive Session of the Native Hawaiian Cultural Communication Course is designed to provide DoD Senior Management and Commander level representatives with the basis for consultation. Native Hawaiian specialists in history, culture, intercultural communication and consultation, and legal experts will teach this acclaimed training. Senior level participation from all Services are encouraged to attend.
