April is Fair Housing Month
In April 2008, HUD and our partners are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act, which protects Americans against discrimination based on race, religion, gender, age, ethnic origin or disability. Our Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) administers and enforces federal laws and establishes policies to ensure that all Americans have equal access to the housing of their choice.
Persons with Disabilities
Are you a person with a disability? Are you a housing provider? Get answers to your questions about the housing rights of people with disabilities and the responsibilities of housing providers and building and design professionals under federal law.
Fair Housing Month Proclamations
Throughout our Region, Governors and Mayors have joined with us to acknowledge the importance of Fair Housing and proclaim April as Fair Housing Month.
Fair Housing Training & Events
Our local FHEO Office and our fair housing partners regularly offer free training throughout the Region on Fair Housing issues. We currently have classes scheduled in Oregon, and in several locations in Washington State. Let us know if youd like us to hold a class in your area.
