Director, Kidney and Urologic Research Training Programs
Director, Diabetic Uropathy and HIV Urology Programs
Current Portfolio/Responsibilities:
Portfolio includes institutional (T32) and individual (F) National Research Service Awards and all career development awards (K) in kidney and urologic diseases. These awards support early training in both basic and clinical research related to kidney and benign urologic diseases and facilitate the transition to independence for clinicians and scientists pursuing academic careers. Additionally, manages the developmental grant program (R03) that supports career-development awardees as they begin their independent research program. Dr. Rankin also manages basic research encompassing urologic complications of diabetes and the pathophysiology of HIV infection in the lower urinary tract.
