ANNOTATION: Results from a “random assignment evaluation to assess whether [mature] sector-focused programs could in fact increase the earnings of low-income, disadvantaged workers and job seekers” are presented (p.ii). These six chapters follow an executive summary: introduction; overall effects and key findings; program-specific findings; programmatic approaches; and conclusions and implications for further research. Those individuals who participated in sector-focused programs were much more likely to work in higher paying jobs with benefits than were non-participants.
