Courses

Resident and distance learning (DL) courses of varying lengths designed to meet your acquisition career field core certification standards as well as specific assignment developmental needs.

The Continuous Learning Center is your gateway to a variety of continuous learning assets supported by DAU to include information on the DoD policy and guidance for defense acquisition workforce continuous learning requirements.

These are on-site courses in which DAU faculty meet with an organizational representative to understand the customer’s requirements, then faculty modify or tailor these existing DAU learning assets to meet the learning needs of the customer. Note: These are fee-for-service courses.

From the DAU iCatalog, you can review course concept cards (information) associated with all DAU courses. You can review DAU’s Continuous Learning Modules and most distance learning Training Courses by selecting the “Browse this course” button in the upper-right corner of each course concept card (if the course is available in browse mode). You can apply for the course by selecting the “Apply for this course” button also located in the upper-right corner. For Targeted Training Courses, the “Apply for Course” feature opens your e-mail program and populates the addresses and subject line.

DAU Course Equivalency/Fulfillment Programs

Resources in Industry

There are a number of professionally recognized Societies and Associations in industry that sponsor training, conferences, and/or information exchange systems as well as industry recognized professional certifications. DAU has partnered with many of them and some of these organizations even offer products that are equivalent to your Defense Acquisition Workforce training standards.

Additionally, FY02 NDAA, Public Law 107-107, Section 1112, Chapter 23 of Title 5, United States Code, 5757, permits agencies to pay for expenses for employees to obtain and renew professional credentials, including expenses for professional accreditation, State-imposed and professional licenses, and professional certifications, and examinations to obtain such credentials. Information on this was published by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Civilian Personnel Policy in a 17 Jun 2002 memorandum. Your component or agency may have implementing instructions.
