This factbook, developed under BJS grants, provides narrative descriptions of the criminal justice systems of 45 countries around the world. The original 42 descriptions were completed in 1993. The latest 5 entries including two updated country profiles were prepared in 2002 under the direction of William McDonald Ph.D., Professor of Sociology and Anthropology, and Deputy Director, Institute of Criminal Law and Procedure, Law Center, Georgetown University. See the HTML page below to access a listing of country reports in alphabetical order. More non-criminal justice information about these countries is available from the CIA's World Factbook.
