Recruits sharpen their hand-to-hand combat skills during martial arts training. A combination of several martial arts, the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) teaches recruits techniques of hand-to-hand combat. The program emphasizes escalating levels of force to overcome any situation.
