Physical fitness is crucial in combat, so Basic Combat Training (BCT) involves a rigorous exercise program, plus regular Army Physical Fitness Tests.
Recruits can prepare beforehand by starting a well-rounded exercise routine that includes strength, flexibility and cardiovascular training. Warm-ups and cool-downs are also recommended to reduce the risk of injury.
