What kind of pet you can have on base depends on your assigned housing facilities. Please contact housing with questions regarding your assignment to quarters.
Concerning travel with your pet from the airports in Japan to MCAS Iwakuni, more information is available at the Travel with your pet page. For information on traveling with your pet within the U.S. or other countries, contact your airline's customer service.
Go to Housing and lodging in Iwakuni. If you are accompanied, please go to Family Housing. If you are unaccompanied, please go to Bachelor Housing. If you are coming as part of the Unit Deployment Program (UDP), please go to Transient Lodging.
With a valid military ID card;
Yes, you can access MCAS Iwakuni. However, there are limitations as to which facilities you may use at MCAS Iwakuni. Please ask us for the details via e-mail, with the type of ID you possess (active duty, retired, dependent, etc. ), your age, the purpose of your visit to MCAS Iwakuni.
Without a valid military ID card;
If you don’t have a valid military ID card, you cannot access the base without a sponsor who will escort you while you are on base.
Our annual Friendship Day is May 5, the Japanese Children’s day. However, if unavoidable circumstances arise, the date could change. When the details are determined, we will announce them on our homepage.
