This Web site is intended to provide a “one-stop” shop for travelers, approving officials, and travel administrators to find information about USDA GovTrip and Temporary duty (TDY) travel. We hope it will provide you with all you need to know to plan, conduct, seek reimbursement for, and/or manage travel.

The Office of the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for setting TDY travel policy for USDA, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations. Your organization may have additional travel policy or processes. Please contact your federal agency travel administrators (FATAs) for more information.

GovTrip is USDA’s official Web-based tool and processes for domestic and international Temporary Duty travel (TDY). GovTrip enables USDA to standardize, automate, and control our travel activities and policies, and help us comply with the federal travel regulations and policies. It provides our travelers with consolidated service for making reservations, and requesting approval of travel authorizations and vouchers. It also streamlines the work of approving and managing travel. USDA travelers are required to use GovTrip for TDY travel under the Federal Travel Regulations (FTR). GovTrip also allows us to comply with the federal requirement that agencies use Electronic Travel Services (ETS).
