Fort Sam Houston is conveniently located near downtown San Antonio, home of the beautiful Riverwalk, the Alamo, and other historic missions.

Fort Sam Houston is home to the US Army Medical Command, the Army Medical Department Center and School, and oversees the Army Medical Research, Development Acquisition and Logistics Command. The Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), one of the world's greatest military teaching hospitals is also located at Fort Sam Houston.

As an important part of the Fort Sam Houston community, the Exchange supports the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) activities by contributing dividends each year. In FY 07, these contributions totaled $1,786,735. Some of the MWR facilities at Fort Sam Houston include the large gymnasium, tennis courts, golf course, bowling alley, library and the club system.

The Fort Sam Houston Main Exchange offers a wide variety of merchandise and services, including free check-cashing of up to $300 per day, layaways, special orders, a large selection of computers and accessories, the Cherish Jewelry Shop, large separate shoe departments for men's and boys, and ladies' and children's shoes; and much more.

The Mini-Exchange is located near the Main Exchange, and includes a great selection of furniture from Bassett and other fine manufacturers, appliances, hardware, including Craftsman tools, pet supplies, outdoor living items, sporting goods and decorator shop. The Mini-Exchange also offers home delivery for your convenience.

Three Burger King restaurants are available for your convenience.....one adjacent to the Main Exchange, another located inside the Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) and a third at the Mini Mall Troop Store. In addition, a large Exchange Restaurant area is located inside the Main Exchange with delicious selections from Charey's Grilled Subs, Anthony's Pizza, Cinnabon, American Eatery, Baskin-Robbins and Snack Avenue. Popeye's Chicken and Godfather's Pizza is located within walking distance of the Main Exchange.

Two Express' are available to provide you with all your quick-stop shopping needs, from a quick cup of cappuccino, to motor oil.

Did you know that the Military Clothing located at Fort Sam Houston is the shipping point for all Army catalog orders? They also provide Marine and Navy uniform clothing items as well. Stop by and visit them soon.

In addition to gasoline, our service station offers a wide selection of tires and tire mounting service, and oil changes, with soldier-friendly hours. This location accepts the Voyager credit card.

A large variety of concession activities are here for your convenience, including barber and beauty shops, flower shop, cellular phone service and accessories, shoe repair, car rental, optical shop, and much more.
