This past week I had the honor to attend the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) course at Ramstein Air Base Germany.
It was an exceptional course taught by skilled professionals who are dedicated to easing the difficult transition process from the military into civilian life.
We were briefed for four hours by the Veteran's Administration on the host of benefits they offer to retirees. Ramstein's finance, transportation and civilian personnel office's added much needed information. We also were blessed by a panel of military professionals who successfully made the shift from active duty into civilian life.
An extraordinary career coach and contractor for the Department of Labor taught the final two and an half days. She taught the class how to write successful resumes, how to interview for a job, how to negotiate salary, and how to dress for success.
Ms. Kathleen Mooree of Ramstein's Airman and Family Readiness Center (AFSC) superbly ran the course. I wish to thank the Air Force for this excellent program and for allowing those of us from different services to participate in their TAP. In the spirit of being joint, Bravo Zulu AFSC!!
