Joint Medical Information Systems Office

The Joint Medical Information Systems (JMIS) Office supports health care operations through design, development, test, evaluation, and deployment of medical information systems. The Program Executive Officer (PEO), JMIS is responsible for the following Program Management Offices (PMOs) that oversee these activities.

  • MCiS
    MCiS evaluates, delivers and manages the network layer and all computing infrastructure support services for the MHS. These services include: engineering planning, design, implementation, and sustainment. MCiS supports all U.S. military personnel worldwide, which includes 133,000 health care providers, 59 hospitals and 364 health clinics (as well as the Purchased Care System), and 9.6 million beneficiaries, including active duty service members, retirees, and family members. MCiS maintains the MHS Service Desk: 24/7/365.

  • DHIMS
    The Defense Health Information Management System (DHIMS) provides information management and IT solutions that capture, manage and share healthcare data for the military's Electronic Health Record (EHR). The EHR is used by the military's medical community and supports the management of more than 9.6 million Military Health System (MHS) beneficiary records. DHIMS provides one of the largest—and most comprehensive—EHRs in the world and is committed to delivering clinical IT solutions that enable continuity of care and timely administration of benefits to Service members and their families.

  • JMIS Standard Contract Language
    The objective of the JMIS Office Policy No. 7.2.1.002 is to ensure that all JMIS program offices, contract support personnel and vendors have a single source to obtain the appropriate references, instructions, and required contract language. These links provide access to appropriate enterprise architecture, information assurance and independent testing & and evaluation sections, along with appropriate reference documents and government furnished information.
