LEARN HOW TO JOIN
Throughout the country and the world, Army Bands perform for the benefit and enjoyment of civilians and Soldiers alike. Along the way, bandsmen receive the kind of musical growth and experience found nowhere else. Here's a quick step-by-step process on how to join the Army Band.Step 1
Talk To An Army Band Recruiter
Think of an Army Recruiter as your guide to the Army and the best resource to answer questions about joining. Recruiters are ready with the know-how to help navigate your military future.
Step 2
Set Up An Audition
The next step to joining the Army Band Program is the audition. When and where this takes place will be worked out with your Recruiter, the auditioner and you. The main interest will be in your sight-reading ability and demonstrated musicianship, i.e. tone, technique, rhythm and intonation. It's more than an audition. It's the first step in shaping your musical career.
Step 3
Report To A Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS)
The Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) is where you go to join the Army. You will get a complete physical; pick your Army job; find out where you'll be stationed for Basic Training; and be sworn in as a Soldier in the U.S. Army.
