Regional Health Administrators

The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health has a Regional Health Administrator (RHA) located in each of the 10 HHS regions across the country. As the senior Federal public health official and scientist in the region, the RHA performs essential functions for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in three major areas: promoting and advancing the Department’s prevention and public health mission, supporting all-hazards preparedness, and facilitating agency-wide coordination and collaboration across HHS agencies. The RHAs are the regional arm by which the Assistant Secretary for Health promotes the Department’s prevention mission and initiatives, with a special emphasis on women’s health, minority health, family planning and reproductive health as well as HIV/AIDS prevention.
