- Underwriting the FHA Appraisal (Broadcast Live on 4/25/2012). This Denver HOC sponsored webinar provides an overview of the responsibilities of the lender and guidance on how to underwrite Fannie Mae appraisal forms. - FHA Basic Income and Assets Underwriting (Broadcast Live on 2/28/2012). The webinar is intended for mortgage loan professionals, including loan officers, underwriters and processors, new to FHA or who wish to refresh their knowledge of basic FHA income and assets underwriting policies. Topics will include effective income, rental income and the self-employed individual’s income. Acceptable sources of funds including gift fund and secondary financing guidelines will also be covered.

Per 4155.1 4.D.2.k Social Security income must be verified by the Social Security Administration (SSA) or from Federal tax returns. If any benefits expire within the first full three years of the loan, the income may only be considered as a compensating factor.
Note:
- The lender must obtain a complete copy of the current awards letter.
- Not all Social Security income is for retirement-aged recipients; therefore, documented continuation is required.
- Some portion of Social Security income may be “grossed-up” if deemed nontaxable by the IRS.

This webinar presented by the Denver Homeownership Center provides underwriters, originators, real estate agents, and other industry partners with instructions to make the most of the remarkable opportunities available through HUD's REO disposition program. - FHA Disaster Relief Program – Section 203(h) (Broadcast Live on 8/11/2011). This Denver HOC sponsored webinar provides information on the Section 203(h) Disaster Relief Program. Through this program the Federal Government helps victims in Presidentially designated disaster areas recover by making it easier for them to get mortgages and become homeowners or re-establish themselves as homeowners.
