LYLE KONKOL NAMED HUD WYOMING FIELD OFFICE DIRECTOR

DENVER - U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Rocky Mountain Regional Administrator Rick Garcia today named Lyle Konkol the Field Office Director for the HUD Office in Casper, Wyoming.

In this position, Konkol will serve as HUD's liaison to mayors, city managers, elected representatives, state and local officials, and consumers in the State of Wyoming. He will oversee the delivery of HUD programs and services to communities and evaluate their efficiency and effectiveness.

"I have worked closely with Lyle on housing, community development and regional sustainability issues throughout the region, and I am excited to appoint him to this the position," said Garcia. "Lyle brings leadership, experience and expertise and will be an indispensable resource to the people and communities of Wyoming."

Previously, Konkol was the Senior Management Analyst for HUD's Helena Field Office. For the past 30 years he has been actively involved in creating and implementing housing opportunities throughout Montana's cities and towns, including Indian Reservation communities. He received a National Secretary's Award for his work in creating partnerships in Indian Country with the winning theme: "Creating Housing Opportunities for Underserved Populations." Additionally, he's served as Montana's liaison for disasters and emergency services working with Montana Disaster and Emergency Services, elected officials, as well as many state and local government offices.

Konkol's has a strong connection to Casper that dates back to the year 2000 when he was HUD's Community Planning and Development Representative, responsible for overseeing Casper's Community Development Block Grant Program.
