God bless these fallen warriors. For those of you wondering how to prevent incidents like this, here's how we prevent this in the future - ARM US We're the most powerful miitary in the world and yet our Active Shooter training has us cowering behind furniture in darkened rooms. If we were all carrying like we used to back in the day, how many situations like this could be mitigated with less loss of life or completely prevented once the enemy knew that if they drew down on group of Airmen they would quickly have a world of hurt rain down on them? I sincerely hope this incident wakes our leadership up.

How disgusting for someone to commit this kind of horrible act. God bless and be strong and help the families in need. In this time of terrorist acts, we as a whole need to sit down and ask ourselves and our leaders what can we do to keep us safer. I know things are going to happen but if we can make ourselves blend in on our travels, NOT make ourselves so obvious and stick out by wearing our uniform to and from TDY's and deployments, maybe that would help. Our leaders must make that determination. We already look like military by our demeanor, haircuts, ect.. Leaders, keep us safe from those who want to hurt us.

Being impacted by this I ask myself what I can do. One small measure that I encourage others here at RAFL RAFM and RAFF is to tie a black or dark blue ribbon to your vehicle aerial. These victims could be the very person that checked your ID every time you drove thru the gate, issued your driving permit or any number of situations. Show your support to their co-workers. And please don't criticize this as identifying yourself as US military. We do that already a dozen other ways. Just do something.

A truly horrible tragedy for the families of those lost and wounded. Condolences to the families of those killed and best wishes for a speedy full recovery to the wounded. Perhaps now the AF will stop the nonsense of hiring locals and 3rd country nationals to provide essential services. So many of us predicted something like this would happen one day. If this was a USAF bus with a USAF driver this senseless tragedy would not have happened.

Our US military community here in Germany was shaken today by a coward who shot and killed two Airmen and wounded two others at Frankfurt Airport. I know many people including my husband who travel in and out of that airport all the time. I can't imagine what the families of the wounded and dead are going through. I pray that God surrounds them and comforts their pain and suffering.

Our prayers go out the families of the airmen who lost their lives today and to those who were injured. Our son Kyle is stationed in Germany and will soon be reassigned to an air base in North Dakota. I know I can say this for every parent and loved one who has family serving in the military: our hearts stopped for a moment when we heard of the tragidy today. Be safe and thank you and your families for service to our country.
