University researchers who meet regularly with INL scientists and engineers (more than six weeks a year) can obtain a security badge through the lab’s academic visitors program.
To be classified as such, a university professor cannot be paid by the lab and cannot work with an INL employee on research or other projects where money is exchanged. Academic visitors must undergo the same training to get a security badge as regular INL employees. An INL employee/collaborator must be willing to sponsor the individual.
