Congressman Boehner Applauds Vote to Promote U.S. Energy Production, Jobs
Jul 25, 2012
Washington-
Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) today applauded House passage of H.R. 6082, The Congressional Replacement of President Obama’s Energy-Restricting and Job-Limiting Offshore Drilling Plan, which marks a critical step towards a real all-of-the-above energy strategy:
“President Obama’s policies are hurting our economy, and whether it’s blocking new American energy production or imposing a small business tax hike, his newest schemes threaten to make matters even worse. Today the House voted to replace the president’s offshore energy plan, which won’t promote job creation, with one that will. Next week, the House will vote to stop the small business tax hike that Ernst & Young says would destroy 700,000 jobs, and start pro-growth tax reform. Just as Americans deserve an all-of-the-above energy strategy that keeps jobs here and brings back jobs that have gone overseas, they deserve a tax code that will do the same. We hope the Senate will join us in acting on these priorities in short order.”
