    Default Promotions before Basic Training

    It seems there is constantly confusion on what you can do to get promoted before leaving for training. I have compiled a list of all possible promotions to get an early advancement before you leave for basic training to help clarify.

    EARLY ADVANCEMENT TO E2

    - Completed at lease one (1) year of Junior ROTC, National Defense Corp Program or Youth ChallenNGe Or Young Marines

    - Completed Phase II requirements of the Air Force Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and been awarded the "Billy Mitchell Award."

    - Participated in the Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) and been awarded the "NSC."

    - Awarded the "Boy Scout Eagle Certificate" as a member of the Boy Scouts of America

    - Awarded the "Girl Scout Gold Award" as a member of the Girl Scouts of America

    - Completed MS1 of Senior ROTC

    - Attended less than 180 days at any U.S. Service Academy or U.S. Military Preparatory School

    - Completed at least 24 semester hours (36 quarter hours) of post-secondary education at an accredited institution

    - Refers one (1) qualified applicant who enlists into the ARNG

    - Stripes for Skills Test

    EARLY ADVANCEMENT TO E3

    - Completed at lease three (3) years of Junior ROTC or National Defense Corp Program

    - Completed MS2 of Senior ROTC

    - Attended 180 days or more at any U.S. Service Academy or U.S. Military Preparatory School

    - Completed at least 48 semester hours (72 quarter hours) of post-secondary education at an accredited institution

    - Completed at least 18 months of post-secondary vocational-technical training and received an official transcript/certificate

    - Refers two (2) qualified applicants who enlist into the ARNG (This is a total of 2 referrals - not in addition to referral from rule "O" above.)

    - Refers one (1) qualified Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Doctor (MD)

    - Any combination of 2 of the requirments for advancement to E2 may be combined for advancement to E3 (except Stripes for Skills)


    EARLY ADVANCEMENT TO E4

    - Completed a degree producing program of at lease (4) years in duration and received an official certificate.


    EARLY ADVANCEMENT TO E5

    - Aint gonna happen...you gotta earn that shiz nit
