Supreme Court
The Supreme Court is the ultimate
interpreter of disputed cases brought to appeal when constitutional
issues or serious criminal penalties are involved. In addition,
the Supreme Court may review the decisions of the Indiana
Court of Appeals and the Indiana Tax Court. GO |

Indiana
Tax Court
The Tax Court has exclusive jurisdiction
over any case that arises under the Indiana tax laws and
that is an initial appeal of a final determination made by
the Indiana Department of State Revenue or the Indiana Board
of Tax Review. In addition, the Tax Court has jurisdiction
over certain appeals from the Department of Local Government
Finance. The Tax Court also hears appeals of inheritance
tax determinations from the courts of probate jurisdiction.
Such cases are called original tax appeals. GO |

The Court of Appeals has jurisdiction
over all appeals not taken to the Supreme Court. This court
has no original jurisdiction except as authorized by Supreme
Court
rules
to review directly
final decisions of certain administrative agencies. GO |

The Clerk of the appellate courts is responsible
for managing the appellate court docket and the filing
of appeals cases, publishing appellate court orders and opinions,
collecting attorney licensing fees, and maintaining
