FY 2012 Competition

The Department is holding two separate competitions:

  • General TIF Competition (CFDA# 84.374A)
  • TIF Competition with a Focus on STEM (CFDA# 84.374B)

When applying, applicants must submit their applications in Grants.gov by selecting the CFDA number that corresponds to the competition that they wish to apply for (84.374A or 84.374B).

TIMELINE FOR 84.374A AND 84.374B

  • Applications Available: June 14, 2012
  • Deadline for Notice of Intent to Apply: June 26, 2012

To assist the Department to develop an efficient review process, applicants are strongly encouraged to send an e-mail notice of its intent to apply for funding to TIF4@ed.gov with “Intent to Apply” in the e-mail subject line. In the body of the email, identify if you will apply for the General TIF Competition (84.374A) or the TIF Competition with a Focus on STEM (84.374B).

  • Deadline for Transmittal of Applications: July 27, 2012

For this competition it is mandatory for applicants to submit their application electronically using the Grants.gov Apply site (Grants.gov). Your application must be fully uploaded and submitted and must be date and time stamped by the Grants.gov system no later than 4:30:00 p.m., Washington, DC time, on the application deadline date.

  • Deadline for Intergovernmental Review: September 25, 2012
  • Deadline to request a waiver for electronic submission: July 13, 2012

Applicants may apply for a waiver to electronic submission requirement by following the specific requirements and instructions in the Federal Register notice.

COMPETITION CONTACT INFORMATON

All questions regarding the TIF competition should be directed to Department staff at: (202)205-5224 or via e-mail at TIF4@ed.gov. Applicants are asked to review the application package, the NIA, the NFP, and the FAQs in their entirety prior to forwarding questions pertaining to the competition.



FY 2011 COMPETITION

The Department did not conduct a competition for the Teacher Incentive Fund. In FY 2011, funds were used to support continuation awards.
