As part of the Knowledge and Information Services initiative at the INL, the Research Library is a valuable research and information resource for our scientists, engineers, technicians, managers and support staff, as well as INL partner sites and universities.
Founded in 1952, the library has extensive resources in nuclear physics, chemistry, heat transfer and fluid flow, materials science, energy, and computer science. The library's expanding virtual collections provide desktop access to a wide variety of electronic resources and subscriptions selected to support the INL mission.
The Research Library works closely with other groups that enable and promote the intellectual output of the INL. From the initial information discovery process to the publication or other dissemination of the laboratory's R&D efforts, the Knowledge Services groups play a key role in developing and sharing the knowledge capital of the INL.
INL Technical Publications
The Scientific and Technical Information (STI) group facilitates the public release of journal article information, conference papers, and technical reports. As a part of this process, information about these technical publications is sent to OSTI - the Department of Energy's Office of Scientific & Technical Information. Links to these reports, as well as reports from the other DOE national laboratories, are collected in a searchable database, Science Accelerator.
