As stated before, FTR 1080B-2002 (and H.320) is the standard that the DISN Video Services Network conforms to. The equipment you purchase to access the DISN Video Services, must conform to FTR 1080B-2002 (and H.320) standards.

DISA can provide information and expertise concerning your equipment but we do not support any specific vendor or product. What you purchase depends on what type facility you are going to establish. Although not all of the following equipment may be needed to meet your requirements, these lists will give you an idea of possible equipment configurations for planning and budgeting purposes. There are basically 3 types of systems: room (studio), group (roll-about), and desktop.

  1. Room, or studio-based, systems are normally desired for larger groups consisting of ten or more people. Click for more info.
  2. group system is typically used for small groups of two to ten people. The system is contained in a roll-about cart, which provides portability between conference rooms or offices. There has been tremendous growth in the utilization of VTC because of these integrated systems. Click for more info.
  3. Desktop systems are designed for use with a personal computer and usually used for one-on-one video conferencing. Click for more info.
