Education Secretary Duncan to Highlight Administration's Initiatives to Help More Americans Afford and Complete College

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will address hundreds of higher education officials and highlight the Department’s work to help more Americans access and complete college during the State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO) Policy Conference in Chicago. He will deliver his remarks at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Westin Michigan Avenue Hotel.

Duncan will discuss the progress that states need to make to help the nation reach President Obama’s goal for America to lead the world in college completion by 2020. He will also detail the steps the Administration has taken to make the cost of higher education more transparent to parents and students as well as increase college affordability. The SHEEO Policy Conference is designed to address the critical higher education policy issues facing the nation, from both state and national perspectives.
