Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Russlynn Ali will address the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Oakland/Bay Area Chapter’s 14th Annual Fundraiser/Madam C.J. Walker Business and Community Recognition Awards Luncheon Friday in San Francisco. In her remarks, Ali will discuss the topic of equal opportunities for women.

As assistant secretary, Ali's Office for Civil Rights enforces U.S. civil rights laws pertaining to education -- ensuring that the nation's schools receiving federal funding refrain from discriminatory conduct related to race, sex, disability or age.
