CAC-T leading the way in trainingBlack Jack Brigade tests the ITE More than 600 Soldiers participated in a training event as part of the field testing of the Army's Integrated Training Environment at Fort Hood this week. Members of the Combined Arms Center - Training have been the trainers and overseers while the Soldiers, members of the 2nd Black Jack Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, are the first to field test the equipment that integrates live, virtual and constructive training. Lt. Col. Shane Cipolla, Director of the TRADOC Project Office - Integrating Architecture, described how the system creates the ITE by linking: the Homestation Instrumentation Training System, a high-tech laser tag; the Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer, a helicopter simulator; the Close Combat Tactical Trainer, a tank and infantry fighting vehicle simulator; and constructive simulations to create the ITE. ITE test starts at Fort Hood FORT HOOD, TEXAS -- Soldiers of the 1st Cavalry Division began a field test of an innovative system that harnesses Army training technology in a new way.
