General Overview

SuomiNet, named to honor meteorological satellite pioneer Verner Suomi, is a network of global positioning system (GPS) receivers to provide real-time atmospheric precipitable water vapor measurements and other geodetic and meteorological information. ARM has built geodetic monuments for SuomiNet GPS receivers across the Southern Great Plains site.
